AGL Receives Award for Its Logistics Contributions to Africa's Energy Sector

In the last quarter of 2024, Africa Global Logistics (AGL) – MSC Group’s reference multimodal logistics provider in Africa – was recognized for its contributions to Africa’s energy sector. AGL’s impact in Africa spans beyond energy development. The company’s work and investments have contributed to economic growth, infrastructure improvements and environmental protection across the continent.


AGL Wins the 2024 ‘Service Provider of the Year’ Award

In November, AGL was named ‘Service Provider of the Year’ at the Invest in African Energy 2024 Awards. The presentation was made during Africa Energy Week (AEW), an annual event hosted by the African Energy Chamber.

The ‘Service Provider of the Year’ award recognizes one noteworthy business that has shown an extraordinary commitment to supporting Africa’s energy industry through creative solutions. AGL received this honour for its sustainable and innovative approach to providing logistic solutions to the continent’s energy sector.

Mohamed Diop, the Regional Director of AGL Senegal, accepted the honour on behalf of the logistics company saying, “This award is a testament to our unwavering commitment to innovation, sustainability and operational excellence. We are honoured by this recognition and remain committed to supporting our customers and partners with world-class logistics solutions, serving Africa's sustainable development.”


Fueling Development Through Logistical Solutions: AGL’s Contributions to Africa’s Energy Sector

The AEW award highlights some of the positive impacts of AGL’s logistics work throughout Africa. The company is known for its sustainable logistics services and tailored innovative solutions that can be adapted for use across different stages of energy projects across the continent.

For example, AGL supports expansive projects, such as the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project in Mauritania and Senegal as well as Sasol’s land base in Pemba, Mozambique.

Additionally, in early 2024, AGL launched operations at AGL Lobito Terminal (ALT). AGL’s investment in this subsidiary is expected to influence economic and social development in Angola and the subregion through improving international and regional connectivity.
